Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-location position based in Tashkent for a Database Administrator. The role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining the database environments supporting the Ministry’s operational and analytical applications. Daily duties consist of monitoring database performance, executing backups and recovery procedures, ensuring data security and integrity, and troubleshooting incidents and performance challenges. Additionally, the DBA will engage in database design and optimization, deploy replication and high-availability mechanisms, and collaborate with IT and business units to support new projects and system enhancements. The incumbent will also be responsible for documenting procedures, adhering to government IT standards, and driving continuous improvement in data management practices.

Candidate Qualifications

• Proficient in database administration and comprehensive database management.
• Skilled in database design and architectural planning.
• Adept at troubleshooting to identify and resolve performance or availability issues.
• Experience with replication methods and configuring high-availability environments.
• Familiarity with leading relational database platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server, alongside strong SQL skills.
• Knowledgeable about backup, recovery strategies, data security, and regulatory compliance within government or large enterprise contexts.
• Holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or has equivalent practical expertise.
• Capable of working effectively in multidisciplinary teams, with solid communication and documentation abilities.
• Experience within public sector, transport, or infrastructure organizations is considered beneficial.
