Role Overview
The Data Product Owner for Aviation supports the Senior Product Manager by managing and prioritizing the agile team backlog, ensuring quality deliverables, and acting as a customer proxy to refine product vision and roadmap. This role engages with multiple scrum teams to clarify feature requirements for iterative releases and maintains training materials for new system introductions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Senior Product Manager to shape product strategy, vision, and roadmap.
- Prioritize and maintain the backlog in iteration planning, coordinating dependencies with other Product Owners and approving iteration plans.
- Refine backlog items continually with clear descriptions, estimates, and prioritization.
- Ensure scrum teams understand necessary features and functions for each iteration.
- Create detailed feature and user stories with defined acceptance criteria and tests.
- Validate completion of stories meets acceptance criteria and Definition of Done.
- Organize regular demos to highlight critical features to stakeholders.
- Lead iteration retrospectives to identify improvement opportunities for velocity and quality.
- Maintain and deliver system training materials for new rollouts and refresher sessions.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of three years in product development roles.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields preferred.
- Scrum Product Owner or SAFe Product Owner certification is advantageous.
- Experience with Agile frameworks including SAFe, Scrum, and Lean Portfolio Management.
- Proven ability to define, launch, and manage products successfully.
- Strong technical understanding combined with operational business knowledge to enable solution delivery.
- Experience developing product visions and strategies specifically for technical products.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, adept at working across multiple teams.
