Position overview
This full-time role is based at 1 Archives Drive in St. Louis, Missouri. The position supports the NARA NPRC mission by providing precise data entry and transcription work for federal personnel records. Because the work involves sensitive records, a high level of accuracy, discretion, and careful handling of information is essential.
Key responsibilities
- Input information accurately into NARA systems, databases, and spreadsheets.
- Convert details from paper or digital records into written form exactly as shown.
- Review entries for correctness, completeness, and formatting consistency.
- Work according to established procedures for sensitive and restricted records.
- Maintain required productivity and quality benchmarks.
- Protect the confidentiality of all records and related information.
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent credential.
- Previous experience in computer-based work or data entry.
- Strong focus on detail, since accuracy is a core requirement.
- Comfort with basic computer tasks, including keyboarding and data entry.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed written instructions.
Physical and security requirements
- Must be able to remain seated or standing for long stretches of time.
- Work must be performed in a secure records setting.
- Candidate must be able to complete the required NARA background check, badging process, and drug screening.
- This contract is open only to U.S. citizens who meet the qualification criteria.
