Data Engineer (AI/ML) Contract

Role Overview

The AI/ML Specialist will be instrumental in creating and deploying cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions aimed at addressing complex business problems. Working collaboratively with various teams, this position will utilize proficiency in machine learning, deep learning, and novel AI technologies to enhance product features, streamline operations, and foster innovation in user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop scalable AI/ML applications across domains like Generative AI, personalization, image and speech recognition, natural language processing, recommendation systems, and forecasting of time series data.
• Manage the entire solution lifecycle, including identification of issues, gathering and analyzing data, model development, validation, and launching robust systems into production environments.
• Investigate new academic research concepts to address emerging business challenges and refine existing models.
• Design and apply deployment strategies to operate AI solutions efficiently on cloud platforms.
• Conduct thorough technical design assessments to maintain high coding standards and smooth integration with continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence within the team.
• Engage actively in strategic and innovation discussions through business and tech forums.

Qualifications

• Advanced academic qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or comparable quantitative fields.
• Documented impactful research experience, including publications or patents considered advantageous.
• Substantial expertise in constructing and implementing complex AI/ML solutions at scale.
• Specialized knowledge in areas such as Generative AI, Deep Learning, NLP, Reinforcement Learning, Recommendation Systems, Bayesian methods, or sophisticated time series modeling.
• Practical experience with prominent open-source tools and infrastructure like Airflow, Kubeflow, Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, as well as feature store technologies.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or Julia, coupled with familiarity with modern integrated development environments and machine learning libraries.
• Good grasp of agile project management techniques, with demonstrated project leadership in fast-paced settings.
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities to work effectively across diverse technical and business teams.
• Preferable experience with cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services.
