Role Overview
The Data Analyst in Finance Operations is a pivotal position driving the integration of AI, automation, and data-centric methods within Finance Operations, supporting departments like Engineering, Cabin Crew, Flight Operations, and Airports. This role blends finance acumen with technological expertise to simplify processes, enhance data accuracy, and develop self-service analytics. These insights facilitate quicker decision-making and influence outcomes for Finance teams, the COO, and the Jetstar Operations Leadership Team (JOLT). The position demands a candidate proficient in managing data systems and collaborating closely with Finance stakeholders to revolutionize working methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce precise monthly financial reports for all JBAs, ensuring alignment with commercial agreements and external reporting standards.
- Collaborate with FP&A and Digital teams to assess merchant performance across JBAs, providing actionable business insights.
- Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations, investigate and resolve long-standing discrepancies, and execute comprehensive variance analyses.
- Manage interline and codeshare revenue reconciliations, including handling intercompany transactions.
- Regularly review and enhance existing procedures by identifying automation and simplification opportunities, implementing solutions to minimize manual workload and boost efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a tertiary degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
- Proven experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or finance transformation roles.
- Proficiency in Power BI or similar BI tools is essential.
- Strong skills in SQL and/or Python for data extraction, transformation, and automation purposes.
- Experience working with AI tools and automation platforms such as Power Automate or Copilot.
- Familiarity with ERP and financial software like Oracle and TM1 is advantageous.
- Background in Finance or Operations environments.
