Role Overview
Working closely with the Head of Digital, the Data Analyst & Engineer will play a pivotal role in developing and executing the data strategy for the region. This position involves managing data pipelines, crafting data visualizations, overseeing data infrastructure, and ensuring efficient data flow. The role requires collaboration across multiple departments to deliver data-driven insights that will support informed decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze data from varied sources to yield actionable business insights.
- Perform data cleansing to guarantee accuracy and integrity of datasets for sound analysis.
- Engage with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and business units to understand their data requirements and provide meaningful insights.
- Effectively communicate complex data findings to stakeholders in clear, business-centric language.
- Design, implement, and maintain Tableau and other BI tools ensuring they align with user requirements and performance expectations.
- Develop and manage ETL processes to accurately and efficiently collect data from multiple sources.
- Troubleshoot and optimize BI systems to enhance scalability and performance.
- Collaborate with both business and technology teams to integrate systems and improve data workflows.
- Oversee database design, development, performance tuning, and maintenance to ensure optimized data storage and retrieval.
- Manage integration of data from diverse systems into data warehouses, maintaining data quality and consistency.
- Create, test, and maintain ETL scripts ensuring reliable data transformation and loading processes.
- Build and maintain data infrastructure components such as data lakes, warehouses, and processing systems to support analytics and BI needs.
- Ensure the implementation of data security practices and adherence to governance and privacy regulations.
- Document data processes and architectures comprehensively and provide ongoing support and maintenance for data systems.
Technical and Professional Qualifications
- Expertise in analytical tools like Excel, SQL, Python, or R for data handling and analysis.
- Proficiency with data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI to develop insightful dashboards.
- Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience in managing database management systems.
- Programming competencies in languages including Python, Java, or Scala for data processing and integration tasks.
- Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, or SSIS for managing data integration workflows.
- Familiarity with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for deployment and management of data solutions.
- Minimum three to five years of demonstrated experience in data analysis and engineering roles.
- Prior exposure to the insurance and reinsurance industry is essential.
- Undergraduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
- Understanding of UX/UI design principles is advantageous.
