About the Company
Our client is a prominent Irish engineering contractor with a strong presence throughout Ireland and Europe, specializing in large-scale engineering and infrastructure projects. Their expertise spans sectors such as Data Centres, Life Sciences, and Power Infrastructure.
Opportunity Overview
This position involves working on the tendering and pre-construction phases of significant power infrastructure projects, including substations and grid connections across Ireland. Collaborating closely with engineering, planning, and procurement teams, you will develop precise and competitive tenders essential for delivering key infrastructure projects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop detailed and competitive cost estimates for civil, structural, and architectural (CSA) components of power infrastructure projects.
- Analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications to thoroughly understand project scope and client needs.
- Perform quantity take-offs and prepare comprehensive Bills of Quantities.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate project conditions and identify construction limitations.
- Request and gather competitive pricing through enquiries with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assess supplier and subcontractor quotations for both technical compliance and commercial viability.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, planning, and procurement teams throughout the tendering process.
- Contribute to the development of tender schedules and pricing strategies for key infrastructure projects.
- Attend pre- and post-tender meetings with internal stakeholders and clients as necessary.
- Facilitate smooth project handover from tender to delivery teams upon award.
Required Experience and Skills
- At least five years of experience in CSA estimating roles.
- Background in estimating civil infrastructure projects.
- Strong proficiency interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Excellent commercial insight alongside robust analytical and numerical capabilities.
- Experience in preparing quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities.
- Willingness to travel for site visits, surveys, and tender-related meetings.
