About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Corporate Quality Assurance Manager to oversee and enhance quality systems across multiple manufacturing locations. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will ensure that both incoming and outgoing products meet customer and regulatory standards, lead supplier development efforts, and maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 certifications. This leadership position significantly influences customer satisfaction, supplier performance, quality-related costs, and continuous organizational improvement.
Responsibilities
- Promote a culture emphasizing quality, transparency, continuous improvement, and effective corrective actions across all sites.
- Manage the Corporate Quality Assurance team, including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and personnel development.
- Guide and support plant-level Quality Managers and Assistant Quality Managers in building capable quality departments.
- Implement and oversee robust safe launch processes for all new product programs.
- Act as the main point of contact for customer quality concerns and escalation management.
- Organize and supervise both internal and external audits adhering to ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 standards.
- Ensure timely and effective corrective actions following audits and non-conformance incidents across all sites.
- Oversee calibration, testing, and measurement systems to uphold accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
- Evaluate and introduce innovative inspection and testing methods to enhance efficiency.
- Manage quality-related budgeting and monitor performance against set targets.
- Lead root cause analysis, defect reduction projects, Pareto analysis, waivers of deviation, and corrective actions.
- Supervise warranty analysis and ensure alignment with applicable CQI requirements.
- Drive initiatives to improve supplier quality and development, including audits, performance tracking, escalations, and continuous improvements.
- Collaborate with Purchasing and Engineering teams to select suppliers using risk-based evaluations.
- Ensure completion and upkeep of APQP, FMEA, PPAP, and Control Plans for all new or modified products.
- Maintain Cost of Quality reporting to provide financial insights into quality achievements.
- Prepare and deliver monthly reports on quality metrics, patterns, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
- Travel as necessary to conduct supplier audits and site visits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; certifications such as CQM, VDA, or IATF Lead Auditor are advantageous.
- Preferred Lead IATF Auditor certification; CQE and Green/Black Belt credentials highly regarded.
- Minimum of 10 years of advancing experience in quality roles, including at least 5 years in automotive quality management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Class A surface requirements, APQP, FMEA, 8D, and Control Plans.
- Experience with exterior Class A surface products is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership managing multi-site teams and engaging cross-functional stakeholders.
- Thorough understanding of ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949, and specific OEM customer requirements.
- Strong analytical, communication, and change management capabilities.
- Able to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels.
Compensation
The salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $135,000 annually.
