Corporate Development Deal Lead

About the Role

This position is part of the Corporate Development team focused on driving growth through acquisitions and strategic investments within the APAC region including North Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. The role requires close collaboration across teams such as Product, Legal, Finance, and People Operations to identify and evaluate investment opportunities and support negotiation and integration processes. You will leverage strategic insight into the industry and regional specifics while applying strong quantitative skills and business judgment to influence management decisions and growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with regional investors and startup ecosystems, aligning with Google’s product and engineering groups.
• Assess, value, and oversee corporate acquisitions and strategic investment opportunities specifically across APAC markets.
• Support leadership in decision-making, lead negotiation efforts, facilitate agreements, and manage the post-acquisition integration process.
• Act as a board member or observer for regional investments ensuring sustained oversight and alignment.
• Work closely in coordination with Corporate Development teams globally, including the Deal team in Mountain View, CA.

Prerequisites

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in corporate development, venture capital, private equity, or investment banking focused on the technology sector.
• Proven track record of at least 5 years actively working on deal execution.
• Demonstrated ability in leading M&A transactions or strategic investments negotiations.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and company valuation techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or an advanced degree is highly preferred.
• 10 years of experience within technology-related fields.
• Experience managing cross-border transactions and familiarity with multiple APAC markets.
• Background in AI, internet/mobile, communications, or e-commerce sectors.
• Strong analytical capabilities encompassing both quantitative and qualitative evaluations.
• Business proficiency in additional Asian languages is a strong advantage.
