Overview
This position entails overseeing all aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), Extra Low Voltage (ELV), and Fire & Life Safety construction activities for large-scale projects including industrial, commercial, logistics, infrastructure, and high-rise buildings. The role focuses on delivering projects safely, on time, within budget and to specified quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all MEP construction efforts in alignment with approved plans, specifications, and timelines.
- Oversee site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and daily on-site activities to ensure smooth operations.
- Track project progress and productivity, implementing corrective measures as needed.
- Collaborate closely with civil, structural, architectural, and planning teams for coordinated project execution.
- Participate in meetings with clients and consultants to address and resolve technical challenges.
- Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), shop drawings, and coordination of interfaces across disciplines.
- Plan manpower allocation and monitor labor productivity to optimize workforce use.
- Coordinate procurement, approvals, delivery schedules, inventory control, and secure availability of long-lead materials and equipment.
- Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, permit systems, and safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implement quality control procedures including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, inspections, and QA/QC requirements.
- Monitor and manage non-conformance reports, material inspection reports, work inspection requests, and corrective actions.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, inspections by authorities, and smooth handover of systems.
- Facilitate completion of snag lists, as-built documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, and project close-out paperwork.
- Prepare regular progress and KPI reports, maintain risk registers, and ensure thorough project documentation.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams and engage effectively with all stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.
- A minimum of 12 to 15 years’ experience in MEP construction, including at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
- Experience working in the UAE or GCC region on industrial, warehouse, logistics, commercial, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
