Job Summary
Join Elite Hospitality in Riyadh as a Commis Chef supporting day-to-day kitchen activities by assisting senior culinary staff with ingredient preparation, basic cooking, and ensuring strict cleanliness and hygiene protocols.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning as directed by the Chef de Partie
- Execute simple cooking methods like boiling, blanching, and sautéing under supervision
- Keep workstations, tools, and kitchen equipment clean throughout service periods
- Adhere to recipes, portioning guidelines, and plating standards set by senior kitchen personnel
- Properly store and label ingredients using FIFO (First In, First Out) guidelines
- Alert Chef de Partie to any shortages, quality concerns, or equipment issues
- Comply consistently with food safety and HACCP requirements
- Assist in receiving and storing delivery items when needed
- Provide support to other kitchen areas during busy times or staffing shortages
- Maintain personal cleanliness and grooming according to company policies
Candidate Requirements
- Basic culinary training or hands-on kitchen experience up to 1 year
- Fundamental knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices
- Ability to follow directions and perform in a fast-paced environment
- Eagerness to learn and take guidance from senior chefs
- Physical endurance for standing long hours and handling moderate lifting
- Basic communication skills in English or Arabic
Working Conditions
- Work takes place in a kitchen with heat, noise, and physical demands
- Shift work required, including weekends and public holidays according to schedule
