Overview
The Commercial Manager is tasked with crafting and executing the Association’s commercial strategy aimed at maximizing revenue, strengthening partnerships, and elevating the commercial value of national football teams, competitions, and development programs across the country.
Key Duties
- Develop and roll out commercial strategies aligned with the organization’s goals.
- Identify new business opportunities such as sponsorships, partnerships, licensing, and other commercial collaborations.
- Enhance the commercial value of national teams, local competitions, and football-related development initiatives.
- Assess industry trends and benchmark practices against global football and sports entities.
- Source, negotiate, and finalize commercial partnerships and sponsorship deals.
- Maintain strong relationships with current sponsors and partners, ensuring contractual obligations are met.
- Create customized sponsorship packages for competitions, events, and digital platforms.
- Collaborate with partners to design and implement mutually rewarding activation campaigns.
- Seek ways to grow revenue via events, hospitality, licensing, and merchandise.
- Support the growth of digital commercial ventures including branded content and online marketing efforts.
- Identify fundraising and sponsorship opportunities for grassroots and youth football.
- Manage the Association’s commercial assets including branding, advertising space, and promotional rights.
- Guarantee sponsors receive their contracted visibility, marketing exposure, and engagement options.
- Coordinate commercial activities for matches, tournaments, and official Association events.
- Work closely with communication, competition, and event teams to deliver commercial programs effectively.
- Collaborate with media and digital teams to amplify sponsor visibility across broadcaster and online channels.
- Assist leadership with negotiations involving strategic partners and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in commercial partnerships, sponsorship sales, or sports marketing roles.
- Demonstrated success in developing and finalizing sponsorship agreements.
- Experience within sports organizations, events, or marketing agencies is advantageous.
- Exceptional negotiation and presentation capabilities.
- Strong commercial acumen with an ability to develop revenue-focused initiatives.
- Ability to foster relationships and engage stakeholders effectively.
- Deep understanding of sports marketing and sponsorship activation strategies.
- Combination of strategic vision and practical execution skills.
- Genuine enthusiasm for football and the sports business sector.
