Role Summary

The CNC Operator will be part of Rocket Lab’s Machine Shop, operating advanced machinery across global manufacturing sites to produce satellites, satellite parts, and rockets. The role covers tasks from design to manufacturing, requiring teamwork to transform engineering designs into hardware using state-of-the-art CNC equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate components for rockets and satellites using CNC machines.
• Handle all aspects of machine setup, including vice and chuck changes.
• Establish work coordinate systems, tool settings, load tools, and perform measurements.
• Monitor cutting conditions and make necessary adjustments during machining.
• Inspect completed parts for quality assurance.
• Perform maintenance on CNC equipment as needed to support production.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of related industry experience.

Preferred Skills

• High standards of workmanship and quality.
• Familiarity with Fanuc, Siemens, and Mitsubishi CNC control systems.
• Experience in CAD design.
• Excellent attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Commitment to following standardized processes.

Additional Information

Experience working with stainless steel, composite materials, or similar substrates is advantageous.
