Claims Associate

Position Overview

The role involves ensuring accurate credit is received from Vendor Partners by managing merchandise in accordance with company policies. This position prioritizes inventory control and excellent service to vendor partners, colleagues, and customers present on the sales floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preventing shrinkage by promptly scanning damaged and stolen merchandise.
• Maintain timely and accurate processing of returns, vendor return authorizations, recalls, paperwork, packing, and shipping, adhering to company deadlines and guidelines.
• Manage SORT and Global Donation Merchandise handling efficiently.
• Continuously enforce safety protocols including proper chemical disposal, maintaining a clean and hazard-free claims area, and correct ladder use and lifting techniques.
• Monitor returned merchandise via claims to protect assets, minimizing chargebacks by ensuring correct processes are followed.
• Keep updated on company policies regarding damaged and recalled merchandise and ensure ongoing compliance with new store programs and procedures.
• Adhere strictly to the Return Manual to maintain up-to-date claims, minimize chargebacks, and ensure completion of vendor return request forms for claims older than 45 days.
• Complete all General Merchandise Customer Value Program (GM CVP) tasks.
• Provide assistance to the Office Support Associate and direct the Store Delivery Associate as necessary.
• Must be at least 18 years old to handle alcohol products.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.55.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be 16 years or older.
