Role Overview

We are seeking a Certified Tool & Die Maker to join our night shift team in Markham, Ontario. You will be tasked with building and maintaining a variety of tools, creating new dies, managing spare parts inventory, and contributing to ongoing process improvements. Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and sustain tools in line with guidance from the toolroom manager.
  • Design and develop new dies, applying advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving to enhance product capability and meet or surpass production rates.
  • Oversee spare parts inventory and manage control systems effectively.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and performance.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Valid Ontario Tool & Die Maker certificate, with evidence of apprenticeship completion or master certification; equivalent European certifications such as a "meisterbrief" are also accepted.
  • At least seven years of experience specializing in fineblanking of performed parts, advanced transfer dies, and deep draw processes.
  • Proven expertise in die maintenance and acceptance including approval procedures.
  • Completion of Grade 12 education alongside a college apprenticeship or equivalent European educational background.
  • Proficient in constructing new tools independently, with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of GD&T Level 1, SPC Level 2, metrology, blueprint reading, and basic CNC lathe/machining programming.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, complemented by excellent documentation practices.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD software and certified crane operation.
  • Trained in WHMIS and lockout/tagout safety procedures.

Compensation and Work Hours

The hourly wage ranges from $38 to $41. The position requires working the night shift.
