Position Overview

The Buyer role is based in Bangalore, India, reporting to the Procurement Lead and contributing specifically to the Motion business within the IEC Low Voltage Division. This division specializes in energy-efficient low voltage motors, delivering advanced technologies like IE5 SynRM motors. ABB values diversity and encourages applicants from all backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Process purchase orders aligning with company standard procedures and purchase requisitions.
• Communicate and confirm delivery schedules with suppliers; track and monitor supplier performance against purchase order requirements.
• Inspect received goods to ensure compliance with quality standards; coordinate returns or replacements when necessary.
• Recommend frame agreements to management and implement upon approval.
• Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, analyzing market trends, and ensuring supply adequacy without excess stock.
• Maintain and update procurement data in the SAP Ariba platform as per defined procedures.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance with ABB values and ethics.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of experience in both direct and indirect procurement activities.
• Possess a full-time Diploma or Engineering degree in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.
• Knowledge of castings and stampings is considered an asset.
