Position Summary
The Business Systems Administrator will collaborate with the Business Applications team, NetSuite administrators, and key stakeholders to optimize the use of NetSuite and associated tools like Zip (procurement/sourcing) and Navan (time & expense). This role focuses on translating finance, procurement, and accounting requirements into scalable system configurations and workflows to enhance efficiency, control, and continuous improvement within the source-to-pay ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement system modifications and automation according to prioritized tasks from the Business Applications backlog.
- Support platform upgrades by conducting thorough testing, validation, and deployment, escalating issues as needed.
- Maintain and update procurement platform configurations, workflows, and system data, including approval hierarchies and general ledger mappings.
- Develop and maintain test cases for enhancements and fixes, ensuring release readiness through documentation.
- Ensure compliance with change management processes, coordinating thoroughly with the release schedule to minimize user impact.
- Collaborate with internal teams to clarify business requirements and apply end-to-end knowledge of sourcing, purchasing, and expense management.
- Create user-focused documentation including release notes and how-to guides following established standards.
- Provide issue resolution support, troubleshooting configuration, workflow, access, and data problems within defined procedures and escalating systemic issues appropriately.
- Maintain understanding of platform integrations and assist with testing integration changes to ensure system coherence.
- Administer user access and participate in audits, adhering to governance and compliance protocols.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong problem-solving capabilities combined with business acumen.
- Understanding of ERP and related business tool ecosystems, including procurement and expense platforms.
- Familiarity with integration platforms (iPaaS) such as Jitterbit or Boomi and concepts like APIs, REST/SOAP, XML/JSON, and SSO/TBA.
- Basic programming knowledge in JavaScript/SuiteScript, SQL, and HTML preferred.
- Experience with SOX compliance and audit processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for communication and documentation.
- Collaborative and consultative communication skills to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- 3 to 5 years of systems administration experience.
- Experience or familiarity with accounting and procurement platforms such as NetSuite, Coupa, Jaggaer, SAP Ariba, Zip, or Navan.
- NetSuite administration certifications or interest in obtaining certifications preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
Work Environment
This position is primarily sedentary and office-based, requiring the ability to use computers and communicate verbally. Some mobility may be necessary for travel or navigating office space, and occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds may be required.
