Business Development Manager - Botswana

Role Overview

Mamoru is building modern financial services with technology at the core, aiming to make access to global markets easier, more efficient, and more dependable. The company is growing its presence across Africa, and Botswana has been identified as an important market in that expansion.

What You Will Do

• Support the establishment of the local legal entity, including opening bank accounts, FX broker accounts, and exchange accounts, as well as onboarding payment processors.
• Coordinate with the global operations team to ensure smooth local execution.
• Act as the company’s on-ground representative and build strong working relationships with banks, brokers, exchanges, merchants, and payment processors.
• Grow FX trading activity in the local market by targeting high-net-worth investors, institutional investors, merchants, and individual traders.
• Keep track of market movements, business opportunities, regulatory or operational risks, and new initiatives, with strong interest in the FX and payments space.
• Serve as nominee director for the local entity.
• Manage day-to-day administrative duties for the local company.

Requirements

• Previous experience in banking or foreign exchange, along with a solid understanding of trading products and the full trade lifecycle.
• Must be a national of Botswana.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational abilities.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and adapting quickly to changing priorities and tasks.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and maintain strong attention to detail.
• Excellent spoken and written English skills.
