Business Data Analyst

Project Overview

An immediate opening is available for a Business Data Analyst to support the transition of the Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program (HEPPP) to the newly implemented Needs Based Funding Model (NBF). This is a remote contract role expected to last two months, during which you will collaborate with 12 NBF program coordinators and 2 Outreach program coordinators to ensure data alignment and reporting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze the current data collection system related to HEPPP Activity and Student Participation to ensure its functionality aligns with the updated NBF Programs, noting the mapping between old and new programs and changes to program coordinators.
• Review and amend the Excel upload templates used by program teams, implementing necessary adjustments.
• Assist program coordinators in collating and submitting activity and student participation data for 2026 per the Excel template, ensuring error-free uploads.
• Evaluate and correct, if required, the Alteryx workflow responsible for activity data upload to prevent compatibility and error issues.
• Assess 17 existing reports published on the Alteryx Gallery for required updates.
• Determine where updated NBF Eligibility Indicators should replace original HEPPP indicators.
• Implement any additional changes necessary for a smooth transition from HEPPP to NBF funding models.

Deliverables

• Successful upload of Program Activity & Student Participation data for Q1 and Q2 of 2026 covering 14 distinct programs, with data reflected accurately on the existing Program Activity & Participation Dashboard.
• A comprehensive report detailing all changes needed to Alteryx Gallery outputs and reports to replace HEPPP-specific naming and eligibility criteria with those of NBF.

Scope Limitations

• The creation of NBF Eligibility rules within the data vault is outside this engagement and handled separately.
• Modifications to Power BI Dashboards will be managed by internal teams and are not part of this contract.
• Changes to Alteryx workflows themselves will also be conducted by the organization's internal resources and are excluded from this assignment.
