Business Data Analyst

Overview

This position supports both operational and strategic initiatives within the organization through data-driven insights. It involves compiling and analyzing data, assessing business trends, and preparing analytical reports to facilitate informed decision-making. Collaboration across departments is essential to align business goals, enhance efficiency, and improve overall performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data from multiple sources to extract meaningful insights.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations tailored for stakeholders by utilizing advanced data analytics platforms and software.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and vital business metrics to monitor progress and detect areas for improvement.
• Create data models that support operational decisions and guide the organization's strategic direction.
• Analyze current company performance, market trends, and benchmark against industry standards.
• Work closely with data engineers to verify the accuracy of data obtained from operational systems.
• Support strategic planning through data modeling and forecasting techniques.
• Offer recommendations on business opportunities and cost optimization to maintain competitiveness and efficiency.
• Coordinate with business management, field teams, and account managers to achieve desired outcomes.
• Foster interdepartmental collaboration by maintaining strong communication channels.
• Identify process improvements using data analytics and optimize business operations accordingly.
• Suggest and implement innovative tools and systems to enhance productivity and streamline reporting workflows.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years’ experience in business or data analysis roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, or related fields; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Proficient in advanced SQL with at least 2 years of professional experience, plus experience with Jupyter Lab and Python.
• Experienced in developing dashboards using tools like SuperSet, Power BI, Tableau, and Excel.
• Knowledge of statistical testing, modeling, forecasting, and project management is beneficial.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, especially SAP, is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The typical pay range for this role in the U.S. is $39 to $41 per hour. Overtime compensation at 1.5 times the hourly rate applies for hours beyond 40 per week as regulated by laws. Final salary offers depend on candidates’ skills, experience, and education.
