Business Analyst - Payments

Job Overview

We are looking for a proficient Business Analyst specializing in the Payments sector, with deep expertise in banking systems. The candidate will play a vital role throughout the Project Lifecycle by engaging with clients to collect requirements, converting these into actionable user stories, interpreting legislative material when necessary, facilitating requirement walkthroughs with stakeholders, and collaborating closely with technical teams to ensure successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business owners, product teams, vendors, as well as internal and external customers to identify and deliver requirements within set deadlines.
• Lead content efforts by partnering with clients to define effective business solutions.
• Engage business stakeholders for thorough requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation.
• Support delivery and implementation teams by providing domain expertise and ensuring the solution meets business needs.
• Coordinate with technical teams to clarify and ensure proper understanding of requirements.
• Translate business requirement documents into clear user stories.

Required Experience and Skills

• 6 to 15 years of industry experience, preferably within Tier-1 IT firms operating in the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) sector focusing on Payments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of payments types such as Low Value Payments, High Value Payments, Cross Border Payments.
• Familiarity with key regulations and their IT implications, including SEPA, Instant Payments, PSD, Open Banking, CBPR+, Target Payments, SEPA direct debits, among others.
• Expertise in messaging schemas and formats.
• Strong communication abilities to lead domain discussions with BFSI customers and act as a bridge between business and IT.
• Ability to interpret regulatory materials and adapt requirements accordingly.
• Documentation proficiency including flow diagrams, procedures, and manuals.
• Exposure to Instant payments, ISO20022 standards, and PSD2 regulations is an advantage.
• Educational background comprising an Engineering degree plus an MBA is preferred.
