Building Maintenance Worker

Overview

This position involves carrying out a variety of maintenance and cleaning tasks at the physical worksite in Vancouver, British Columbia. The candidate is required to perform facility upkeep, repairs, and support services to ensure a safe and functional environment. Remote work is not permitted as all duties need to be executed onsite.

Language and Education

Fluency in English is necessary for effective communication. A secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required. Prior experience in maintenance or a related field is viewed as advantageous but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean hallways, floors, and stairs using sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing techniques.
• Dispose of trash and waste materials by emptying cans and containers.
• Handle minor maintenance tasks involving heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems; coordinate with specialized tradespersons for larger repairs.
• Engage contractors for repair and maintenance services as needed.
• Conduct minor repairs on various appliances.
• Carry out routine safety and security inspections to maintain a secure environment.
• Assist prospective tenants by showing apartments and office spaces.
• Complete additional maintenance duties such as painting and drywall patching.
