Role overview
Boardwalk is hiring a Building Handyperson to carry out general maintenance and repair work at an apartment/condominium complex in Brampton, Ontario. This is an on-site position and the work must be done at the physical location, with no remote option.
Language requirements
The position requires English communication skills.
Education
A secondary school graduation certificate is required.
Experience
Applicants should have 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant experience.
Work environment
The job is performed in all weather conditions within an apartment/condominium complex setting.
Key duties
The role includes general cleaning, basic repairs, and site upkeep. Typical work involves operating industrial vacuums, clearing waste, cleaning glass and surfaces, handling minor maintenance for mechanical and utility systems, supporting appliance repairs, completing safety checks, moving equipment and furnishings, doing routine touch-up repairs such as painting and drywall patching, caring for plants and outdoor areas, and removing snow and ice from walkways and parking lots. The position also calls for the ability to work with limited supervision.
Equipment and tools
Experience with power tools, small tractors with lawn or snow-removal attachments, and snowblowers is part of the role. Workers must also have their own tools and steel-toed safety boots.
Additional requirements
A criminal record check is required. Candidates must have their own vehicle and a valid driver's licence. The work is physically demanding and includes repetitive tasks, heavy lifting, bending, crouching, and kneeling. The maximum weight to be handled is up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
