About the Role
Twyford International Kenya is seeking a dedicated Overseas Fundi Manager to lead and coordinate construction activities, supplier partnerships, advertising execution, and tiler engagement initiatives across multiple countries. The role combines practical construction knowledge with strategic oversight, cost management, and regional leadership.
Primary Responsibilities
- Audit and ensure cost-effectiveness of construction quotations.
- Evaluate and confirm all onboarded construction suppliers across regions.
- Standardize materials and specifications used in construction across countries.
- Conduct visits to market showrooms to assess material quality and standards.
- Review annual material costs aligning them with current market values.
- Develop and implement construction plans on yearly, quarterly, and monthly bases.
- Monitor and report weekly and monthly progress of construction projects.
- Analyze the sales impact of showroom construction at both store and organizational levels.
- Enhance construction strategies by continuously studying market and competitor trends.
- Audit and manage advertising quotations and suppliers.
- Standardize advertising materials in line with changing market demands.
- Design and execute advertising plans across regional markets.
- Track and evaluate advertising campaign outcomes to improve strategies.
- Review and approve procurement expenses, including materials and gifts, maintaining compliance and efficiency.
- Supervise tiler engagement, implementing reward systems and auditing point activities for irregularities.
- Develop and monitor redeemption plans and engagement for tilers, including inactive groups.
- Manage training budgets and programs for tilers and marketing teams, tracking their effectiveness.
- Assess staff requirements across countries and aid recruitment planning.
- Compile comprehensive reports weekly and monthly covering construction, advertising, and tiler programs.
- Create strategic operational plans and drive ongoing improvements using data analytics and market intelligence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Building & Construction, Interior Design, or related field.
- Minimum 5 to over 10 years of experience in construction or project management.
- Proven track record managing tilers, masons, and finishing teams.
- Experience in supplier management, procurement processes, and controlling costs.
- Ability to oversee operations spanning multiple countries.
- In-depth knowledge of tiling techniques, finishes, and construction materials.
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills in English; proficiency in Swahili is an advantage.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
Preferred Skills
- Background in tile or building materials sectors.
- Familiarity with advertising and marketing project execution.
- Experience working within African regional markets.
