Role Summary

We are searching for a Billing Operations Specialist to become a crucial member of our Operations team. This role involves managing the entire billing lifecycle, ensuring accuracy in payment processing, analyzing partner data, and resolving exceptions for our members and carrier network. You will act as the key liaison between our enrollment system (E123), payment gateway (NMI), and carrier partners, maintaining smooth billing processes and proactively addressing potential issues.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Handle identification, prioritization, and full resolution of billing exceptions, including managing escalations effectively.
  • Monitor billing-related support tickets diligently, maintaining timely responses with an average volume of 10-15 tickets weekly and resolving them within two business days.
  • Conduct daily tracking of payment declines and generate weekly reports analyzing trends by agency, product, and carrier.
  • Manage monthly payment file processing and oversee implementation of payment files for new and existing carrier partnerships.
  • Serve as the central contact point between the enrollment platform and payment gateway to ensure consistent and accurate operations.
  • Collaborate closely with Member Care, Operations, and carrier partners to communicate billing updates, escalate unresolved concerns, and maintain transparent information flow.
  • Take on additional tasks as needed to support operational goals.

Required Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in billing operations, payment processing, insurance administration, or a comparable operational environment; demonstrated equivalent expertise will also be considered.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage recurring tasks autonomously with high accuracy.
  • Familiarity with enrollment and billing software, rapidly adapting to proprietary systems.
  • Strong written communication skills for managing support tickets and interdepartmental correspondence.
