Job description

Position Overview

As a Beverage Lab Technician based in Erlanger, Kentucky, you will contribute to the preparation and testing of beverage formulations and prototypes, directly supporting scientific staff in their daily operations. This hands-on role ensures that laboratory activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with technical standards.

Work Hours & Shift Details

  • Day shift hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, comprising an 8-hour workday with a 30-minute lunch break.
  • Start time flexibility is provided between 7:00 and 8:00 AM.

Key Objectives

  • Maintain and exceed laboratory safety, technical, and productivity targets.
  • Assist scientists by providing samples that satisfy customer requirements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct and assess analytical tests on beverage samples.
  • Prepare and modify formula batches, including screening of flavors and colors and adjusting recipes as needed.
  • Apply basic mathematical concepts for laboratory calculations, including ratios and percentages.
  • Comply fully with daily ISO protocols and procedures.
  • Organize and execute sensory triangle tastings and stability tests under guidance.
  • Utilize AS400 and LEAD systems to locate information and manage shipment generation.
  • Document data for demonstration materials.
  • Identify and select optimal flavoring options for product development.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or above, with 1-3 years of relevant experience—preference for candidates holding qualifications in food science or chemistry.
  • Proficiency in foundational math skills such as ratios, fraction conversions, and percentage calculations.
  • A basic grasp of scientific terminology, chemistry concepts, and human physiology.
  • Familiarity with computers including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and internet research. Able to create, edit, and manage documents and spreadsheets.
  • Experience with basic lab equipment calibration and data reporting, especially for instruments like pH meters, refractometers (Brix), spectrophotometers, and titration apparatus (TA).
  • Must be a US citizen.
