Role Overview

The Barista position at Viva Supermarkets is a full-time, on-site role located in Dubai. The key responsibilities include crafting and serving hot and cold coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages following company recipes and quality standards. Daily duties encompass setting up and tidying the coffee station, managing ingredient stock, preparing light snacks or baked items, and operating coffee equipment safely and efficiently.

As a Barista, you will greet customers warmly, take their orders, handle payments, and ensure a smooth and friendly customer service experience. Additionally, you will support overall store cleanliness, adhere to food safety and hygiene protocols, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless operations, especially during busy periods.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong customer service and interpersonal abilities to positively engage with diverse customers and team members.
• Proficient barista skills, including beverage preparation, use of coffee machines, and customizing drinks.
• Effective communication skills to accurately take orders and work well with the store team.
• Competency in food preparation to safely handle and present drinks and light snacks.
• Basic numeracy skills for managing cash and operating POS systems, with careful attention to detail in orders and inventory management.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and work efficiently in a fast-paced, customer-facing setting.
• Prior experience in cafés, coffee shops, or food service roles is preferred though not mandatory.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages frequently spoken in Dubai is a benefit.
