Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Azure DevOps Administrator to spearhead the implementation and management of Azure Test Plans within our client's Azure DevOps environment. This position involves configuring test management frameworks, overseeing user access and permissions, and establishing best practices to empower QA and project teams in their testing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and configure Azure Test Plans in the client's Azure DevOps tenant, ensuring smooth integration with existing workflows.
- Define project structures like teams, area paths, iteration paths, and security groups to meet client requirements.
- Administer user licenses, access controls, and role-based permissions for QA and project members.
- Authorize creation and management of test plans, suites, test cases, configurations, and test executions.
- Establish and enforce standardized best practices for effective use of Azure Test Plans across teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to permissions, visibility, and access promptly.
- Prepare detailed documentation including configuration guides and handover materials to support knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and document configuration choices accurately.
- Keep abreast of the latest Azure DevOps advancements to enhance configuration and performance continually.
- Provide foundational training and ongoing support to ensure teams maximize Azure Test Plans capabilities.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience managing and configuring Azure DevOps environments, especially Azure Test Plans.
- Comprehensive understanding of Azure DevOps access levels, user groups, permission settings, and security protocols.
- Strong grasp of QA and test management processes including test planning, execution, and defect tracking.
- Experience working with Azure Boards and adapting work item configurations and processes to client-specific needs.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD for managing group-based access controls.
- Experience migrating test management tools or integrating with CI/CD pipelines is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with client teams and produce clear documentation.
- Analytical problem-solving skills to swiftly address permission and access related challenges.
- Meticulous attention to detail ensuring precise configuration and maintenance of testing environments.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities independently with strong organizational skills.
