About the role
The organization is looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer with solid hands-on expertise in AWS cloud environments, Amazon EKS, and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terragrunt. In this position, you will help design, deploy, and operate secure, scalable, and highly available cloud systems, while also strengthening automation and CI/CD delivery pipelines.
Location and shift
This role is remote. The expected work experience is 3 to 6 years, and the shift timing is 6 PM to 3 AM IST.
Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and operate AWS production environments that are reliable and ready for scale.
- Work with AWS Control Tower and AWS Organizations to manage multi-account setups and provisioning.
- Set up, upgrade, and support Amazon EKS clusters.
- Provision cloud infrastructure through Terraform and Terragrunt.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD workflows for automated releases.
- Deploy workloads with Helm and support application rollout processes.
- Configure autoscaling in Kubernetes using Karpenter as well as horizontal and vertical pod autoscalers.
- Administer networking services in AWS such as ALB/NLB, VPC, Transit Gateway, NAT Gateway, Route 53, and Route 53 Resolver.
- Put in place monitoring, observability, log aggregation, and alerting with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and the EFK stack.
- Strengthen platform security, governance, availability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Investigate production incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Partner with development, QA, security, and AI/ML groups to support cloud-native solutions.
Requirements
- Strong practical experience with AWS services including EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, Route 53, ALB/NLB, Auto Scaling, CloudWatch, and networking in AWS Control Tower and AWS Organizations multi-account environments.
- Knowledge of AWS governance concepts such as account provisioning, cross-account IAM roles, Service Control Policies, centralized networking, and landing zone practices.
- Hands-on Kubernetes administration experience covering networking, RBAC, ingress, storage, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools, especially Terraform and Terragrunt.
- Familiarity with container technologies, especially Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with the Kubernetes ecosystem, including Helm, Karpenter, Metrics Server, AWS Load Balancer Controller, ExternalDNS, and cert-manager.
- Exposure to monitoring and logging stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and EFK.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, AWS CodeCommit, CodeDeploy, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Jenkins.
- Strong Linux administration skills and Bash scripting ability.
- Preferred exposure to MLOps tools and workflows such as Kubeflow, MLflow, Kubernetes model deployment, AWS SageMaker, GPU workloads, or AI infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, or AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty are preferred.
- Additional preferred experience includes Kubernetes security, container image scanning, secrets management tools, Istio, AI/ML platform support, GPU-enabled Kubernetes clusters, cloud security, disaster recovery, backup planning, and FinOps/cost optimization practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, documentation, stakeholder management, mentoring, and DevOps enablement skills are valued.
