About NGHC

NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC), formed through a partnership between Air Products, ACWA Power, and NEOM, is developing an $8 billion facility dedicated to producing green ammonia based on hydrogen. This project harnesses renewable solar, wind, and energy storage technologies to manufacture green ammonia destined for worldwide export, with operations set to begin in 2026.

Position Summary

The ASU Field Operator will manage daily operations of the Air Separation Unit (ASU) and Utilities field production processes. This involves overseeing the ASU, GAN supply pipeline, LIN storage tanks and vaporizers, LIN loading station, cooling water (CW) and demineralized water (DW) systems, as well as the Instrument Air (IA) plant. The role ensures compliance with safety policies and site procedures while striving for reliability, efficiency, and productivity through safe, dependable plant operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the ASU and Utilities production plants, maintaining safety and reliability per NGHC standards.
• Troubleshoot plant issues collaboratively with Operations and Maintenance teams to deliver field support.
• Execute daily and monthly routines aligned with operating instructions, maintenance guides, and safety mandates.
• Collect process samples daily for quality assurance.
• Implement Lockout/Tagout procedures to ensure operational safety.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
• Support plant shutdowns and other field activities.
• Assist in revising and updating operating documentation.
• Contribute to site management system maintenance including Management of Change (MOC), Best Practices (BPs), Safe Work Instructions and Methods (SWIMs), and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).

• Foster a robust safety culture committed to zero lost-time injuries.
• Ensure full adherence to Environment, Health & Safety standards during operations.
• Participate actively in safety programs and enforce safe working protocols.
• Understand and implement Emergency Response Plans to safeguard personnel and ensure proper plant shutdown when needed.

Operations Support & Communication

• Establish and maintain productive relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Facilitate effective communication throughout plant operations.
• Maintain a proactive and positive attitude, supporting continuous improvement efforts.
• Work rotating shifts and perform on-call duties as required.

Training & Development

• Complete required operational training and pass competency validation assessments.
• Train and mentor newly assigned field operators.
• Serve as a trainer supporting the development of new staff.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of experience operating ASU and/or Utilities plants.
• Experience in similar industrial plant settings preferred.

Skills & Technical Knowledge

• Strong dedication to safety and operational excellence.
• Ability to interpret Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Single Line Diagrams, and Shutdown Matrices.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Good knowledge of work permit and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays, plus participate in on-call rotations.
• Proactive, honest, diligent, and collaborative work approach.
• Commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
• Experience specifically in ASU and Utilities plants is considered advantageous.
