Role Overview
This role entails working closely with a team specializing in energy and infrastructure projects, providing comprehensive legal support throughout the entire project lifecycle—from planning and design to operation and eventual decommissioning or renewal.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on the development, structuring, and execution of both greenfield and brownfield energy and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and negotiate contracts associated with electricity generation, transmission, clean energy projects, desalination, utilities, and wastewater treatment and disposal.
- Provide guidance and drafting services for public-private partnership deals and infrastructure endeavors including power plants, data centers, waste-to-energy plants, ports, transport systems, petrochemical facilities, tankage, terminalling, and logistics.
- Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis related to Singapore law and industry standards across diverse sectors.
- Support general corporate and commercial legal work such as transactions concerning sale and purchase of goods, service agreements, supply and distribution contracts, hire-purchase arrangements, and employment matters.
- Collaborate with senior colleagues to deliver client-centric, practical solutions addressing operational, regulatory, and commercial challenges.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated interest or background in energy, infrastructure, or project development sectors.
- Strong skills in legal drafting, negotiation, and communication.
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Motivation to learn and grow as a corporate legal practitioner.
- Proficiency in English is essential; additional fluency in Asian languages such as Mandarin or Bahasa is advantageous.
