Role Overview
We are seeking an Associate Data Scientist to join our team in Melbourne and contribute to developing cutting-edge AI-powered features within our product portfolio. This role entails collaborating on defining solutions, enhancing data quality, working with AI tools and platforms, and applying data science methodologies to support product design, experimentation, and performance evaluation to ensure measurable value for customers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers and fellow data scientists to design, test, and launch AI-driven features.
- Address real-world challenges using a thoughtful, ethical, and human-centered approach.
- Create robust data pipelines along with large language model (LLM) based enrichment techniques and evaluation frameworks.
- Engage in interdisciplinary discussions, knowledge sharing with engineers, people scientists, and data scientists.
- Continuously monitor current research, literature, and available technological offerings to pragmatically meet customer needs.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in traditional data science techniques, statistical modeling, model training, and exploratory data analysis.
- Hands-on experience working with large language models, including evaluation metrics and agentic workflows.
- Strong SQL skills, ideally with enterprise-grade relational databases such as Redshift or PostgreSQL.
- Competency with Python programming and associated data science libraries (e.g., pandas, numpy).
- Understanding of statistical and machine learning models, including experimental design, hypothesis testing, and model validation.
- Experience utilizing data visualization tools like Plotly, Seaborn, or Streamlit.
- Familiarity with data modeling and workflow orchestration tools such as Metaflow or Airflow is a plus.
- Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control, continuous integration/deployment, and automated testing.
- Formal education in Data Science, Applied Machine Learning, Informatics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Computer Science.

Work Arrangement
We value in-person connection and culture; therefore, Campers are expected to work from their local Culture Amp office approximately two days per week.
