Associate Cybersecurity Analyst

Job Overview

The Associate Cybersecurity Analyst plays a key role in bolstering cybersecurity initiatives by observing security events, interpreting logs, probing alerts, and managing security surveillance systems. This position collaborates closely with cybersecurity teams to detect threats, enhance system monitoring, and aid in incident identification and management.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security-related events to identify potential threats or anomalies.
• Analyze and interpret logs to detect security issues.
• Investigate security alerts to confirm incidents and recommend responses.
• Maintain and optimize security monitoring platforms to improve threat visibility.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent discipline.
• Between 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity or related sectors.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cybersecurity functions and operational security procedures.
• Practical experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools and log analysis, preferably using Splunk.
• Familiarity with log management technologies and data engineering tools such as Cribl.
• Fundamental understanding of database systems and query languages.
• Solid grasp of networking protocols and administration of Windows/Linux systems.
• Basic scripting abilities in Python and/or PowerShell.
• Introductory knowledge of cloud services including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Must possess Splunk Power User and Splunk Administration certifications.
