Role Overview
This full-time Assistant Store Manager position is based at Manawa Bay in Auckland and follows a Sunday to Thursday schedule for 40 hours per week. The role supports the Store Manager in running a high-performing retail environment, with a strong focus on sales delivery, customer experience, team development and store standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Store Manager to achieve sales goals, KPI targets and strong day-to-day store operations.
- Set the tone on the shop floor by delivering engaging customer interactions that reflect the Vans brand.
- Guide, motivate and develop team members so they can perform confidently and contribute to store success.
- Track sales results on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, recognising achievements and spotting areas for improvement.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards that present products well and support brand storytelling.
- Manage stock processes, reduce shrinkage and keep the store organised and well controlled.
- Build a supportive, inclusive and accountable team environment that encourages collaboration and creativity.
- Identify emerging leaders and support their growth through coaching and succession planning.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a high-volume retail setting in a leadership-related position such as Senior Casual, Key Holder, 3IC, Supervisor or Assistant Store Manager. You should be comfortable leading people, driving results and balancing customer focus with operational discipline. A proactive mindset, strong initiative and a genuine interest in mentoring others are important for success in this role.
