Position Description
The Assistant Packaging Designer plays a key role in supporting the design of new concepts for product categories aligned with seasonal themes and overall business strategy. This includes creating brand-aligned style, color, print, and graphic designs for new and existing lines, conducting trend research, and supporting merchandise collaboration. The position also involves working closely on approvals, final design production, and coordinating with production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Help conceptualize and translate current design trends into components for seasonal collections.
- Conduct research on trends and patterns for upcoming seasons, applying insights to product and label design.
- Collaborate with Merchandising teams to maintain design integrity throughout product development.
- Assist in securing design approvals from Legal and Regulatory departments.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of final design outputs.
- Update and manage design board layouts and concept presentations.
- Prepare Design Turn Overs (DTO) and finalize artwork for handoff to the Production team.
- Provide approved design direction to the mechanical art team for technical specification development.
- Review mechanical artwork to finalize design approval before release.
Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Design or related experience is required.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in 2D design, illustration, or graphic/product design.
- Strong skills in design principles, typography, and color usage; expertise in 2D label or graphic design is preferred.
- Demonstrated creativity, conceptual thinking, execution ability, organization, and professionalism in design work.
