Role Overview

This position focuses on overseeing all aspects of heavy structural steel fabrication and erection operations for large-scale construction projects. The role requires strong technical, leadership, and coordination abilities to ensure high-quality, safe, and timely project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the fabrication and installation of structural steel components.
• Liaise with engineering teams to obtain required information and work closely with general contractors and fabrication vendors.
• Interpret engineering blueprints, including GA drawings, Tekla models, and shop drawings, to guide fabrication processes.
• Remain up-to-date with applicable IS, AWS, and ASME codes and standards.
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to finalize welding procedures, inspection plans, and ensure compliance with design requirements.
• Enforce organizational safety standards, manage work permits, and ensure adherence to safe practices at work sites.
• Implement preventative measures to reduce unsafe behavior and ensure regulatory compliance on site.
• Compile and submit regular fabrication progress and escalation reports to senior management.

Required Qualifications

• BE, B.Tech, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in mechanical construction and project execution, specifically related to heavy structural steel.
• Comprehensive knowledge of welding and extensive practice with mechanical drawings in multidisciplinary environments.
