Role Overview
The Assistant Manager, Logistics Operations will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the operational performance of Talabat's fleet including bicycles, electric vehicles (EVs), and tMart facilities. This role requires independent operation, steadfast compliance enforcement, and partnership with cross-functional teams to optimize fleet efficiency and service quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead operational strategy and fleet performance management by optimizing fleet composition across bicycles and EVs, in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze fleet performance metrics to generate detailed reports and offer actionable insights to leadership.
- Enforce compliance at tMart locations by conducting regular visits, ensuring rider attendance and adherence to protocols, and managing violations with structured plans.
- Develop and implement long-term operational solutions to recurring challenges.
- Constantly enhance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by integrating automation and system upgrades to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
- Collaborate closely with Performance, Third-Party Logistics, and Rider Lifecycle teams to address systemic issues and coordinate priorities.
- Cultivate a high-performing team environment emphasizing accountability, ownership, clear communication, and alignment across city operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
- Between 3 to 5 years of operational experience, preferably within last-mile delivery, e-commerce, or mobility technology sectors.
- Proven expertise in managing field teams and cross-functional collaboration.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical capabilities with emphasis on data-driven decisions.
- Ability to communicate clearly and structured across different teams and leadership levels.
- A proactive ownership mentality focused on results and accountability.
- Comfortable with fieldwork and confident in making autonomous decisions.
- Effective stakeholder management and ability to collaborate across functions.
- Basic to intermediate skills in AI tools usage, including Claude.
