Position Summary
The Architectural Assistant Designer will contribute to the design and development of architectural projects from inception through to the completion of construction-level documentation. This role requires managing several tasks concurrently across multiple project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare documentation that captures existing conditions and advances to construction drawings.
- Create vision boards to support design concepts.
- Assist Lead Designers with selecting fixtures and finishes.
- Collaborate with designers and production teams to estimate construction costs during schematic design, development, and construction documentation stages.
Experience and Skills Required
- A minimum of one year experience in residential design; two to three years is preferred.
- Proficient use of AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and SketchUp.
- Experienced in using Gather It software, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to take direction and manage varying project sizes and complexities.
- Strong collaboration skills with design and construction teams.
- Motivated to learn and apply the Design-Build process.
- Fluent in English communication, both written and verbal.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Additional Qualifications
- Background in carpentry or building trades is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Passive House standards or other building science is beneficial.
- Experience with 3D scanning techniques and workflows is a plus.
Educational Background
- Degree in Architecture or Construction Management required.
- Preference given to candidates with an accredited architectural degree.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary between $50,000 and $60,000.
