About the Role

The Application Support Engineer will function as a software troubleshooter, delivering dynamic services by identifying and resolving issues across key components of critical business systems.

Job Summary

This role focuses on IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM), overseeing the hardware and software lifecycle within the organization. It ensures compliance with license agreements, promotes optimal asset utilization, reduces associated costs, and supports both internal and external audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update inventories of hardware and software assets.
  • Manage the entire asset lifecycle including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Apply ITAM policies, procedures, and standards to enhance asset tracking.
  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, and technical teams to keep asset records accurate.
  • Conduct regular physical audits and reconcile asset data.
  • Handle tagging, allocation, and return processes for assets.
  • Monitor hardware nearing end-of-life/support and plan replacements.
  • Track software usage to ensure licensing compliance.
  • Administer software license contracts and reconciliations.
  • Assess license requirements based on user roles and business needs.
  • Coordinate with vendors on renewals, true-ups, and audits.
  • Analyze software utilization to identify cost optimization opportunities.
  • Support audits by supplying relevant asset and license documentation.
  • Maintain a centralized repository for software licenses and agreements.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years professional experience in ITAM, SAM, or equivalent roles.
  • Proficiency with ITIL framework and IT Service Management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC).
  • Strong knowledge of various software licensing models such as perpetual, subscription, and SaaS.
  • Experience utilizing asset management tools like Flexera, Snow, Lansweeper, or SCCM.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications like Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM), Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM), and ITIL Foundation.
  • Experience managing cloud assets including Microsoft 365, AWS, and Azure.
  • Understanding of data privacy and compliance standards such as GDPR and SOX.
