Job description
Position Overview
The Accommodation Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing all aspects related to cleanliness and maintenance within the hotel, ensuring adherence to company standards. This individual is responsible for the daily management and supervision of hotel operations and staff, including budgeting, planning, organizing, and directing accommodation and laundry services.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain exemplary cleanliness standards throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house, staff areas, and external hotel premises.
- Implement thorough checking procedures, and ensure comprehensive training of housekeeping personnel.
- Collaborate closely with front office staff to manage accommodation allocations effectively.
- Coordinate with other hotel departments as needed to maintain smooth operations.
- Create and manage staff schedules and supervisory coverage for the housekeeping team.
- Supervise repairs and maintenance activities across rooms and public facilities such as dining areas and gym.
- Conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety standards.
- Handle recruitment and supervision of room attendants, linen porters, and maintenance staff in partnership with HR.
- Organize laundry services and manage linen stock, overseeing all laundry-related operations.
- Manage lost property in line with company policies.
- Perform duty management shifts as required.
Planning and Organizational Duties
- Develop, maintain, and enforce rigorous housekeeping Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure all team members participate in required company training sessions.
- Arrange regular departmental and team meetings, documenting minutes and ensuring follow-up actions are communicated to the Hotel Manager.
- Monitor and analyze departmental expenses continuously and initiate corrective measures as necessary.
- Maintain proper checklists and documentation.
- Manage the annual housekeeping operating budget, with focus on payroll, energy consumption, supplies, and stock control.
- Ensure all equipment, materials, signage, and work areas are in optimal condition and report any faults or safety hazards immediately.

- Comply with and uphold all company policies and procedures.
- Ensure staff adhere strictly to hotel policies regarding uniform and personal hygiene standards.
- Remain informed about daily business metrics such as occupancy rates, special requests, and VIP needs.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor consistently.
- Encourage innovation and contribute new ideas towards business excellence.

- Lead by example, acting as a mentor and striving for high standards within your team.
