WordPress Development Intern

About the internship

This remote internship focuses on improving WordPress and WooCommerce pages so they feel clearer, more persuasive, and more conversion-oriented. You’ll work on landing pages and product pages to strengthen layout, add trust-building elements, and refine calls to action.

The role also involves implementing updates directly in WordPress through clean theme and template-level changes, without relying on plugins. Alongside that, you’ll help make the site leaner and faster by optimizing images, reducing unnecessary scripts and styles, and keeping the plugin footprint small with attention to basic Core Web Vitals improvements.

You’ll also ensure the website stays fully responsive across mobile, tablet, and desktop screens while maintaining simple technical SEO practices such as proper structure, headings, metadata, and internal linking.

Responsibilities

• Improve landing and product pages by refining layout, clarity, trust signals, and calls to action with a conversion-focused approach.
• Apply changes directly inside WordPress and WooCommerce using tidy theme or template edits, without using plugins.
• Increase site speed and reduce page weight by optimizing images, trimming unused scripts and styles, and keeping plugins to a minimum.
• Make sure the website is responsive and visually polished on mobile, tablet, and desktop.
• Handle basic technical SEO while making updates, including page structure, headings, metadata, and internal links.

Eligibility

Applicants must be available for a work-from-home internship, able to begin between 30th Jun'26 and 4th Aug'26, and ready to commit for 3 months. Candidates should have relevant skills and interest, and the role is specifically open to Computer Science Engineering students.

Requirements

• Good hands-on experience with WordPress and WooCommerce, along with examples or a portfolio to share.
• Ability to work on both the design side and the development implementation side of the website.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and WordPress/PHP fundamentals such as themes, templates, and hooks.
• Strong performance mindset with the ability to improve speed without relying on extra plugins for every task.
• Self-driven work style and the ability to operate with limited supervision.
