Job Overview

As a Yard Coordinator, you will be responsible for maintaining the equipment yard and wash bays in pristine condition, operating machinery, and assisting with equipment handling to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean equipment thoroughly using pressure washers, vacuums, and appropriate cleaning materials.
  • Keep the equipment yard and wash bay well-organized and tidy.
  • Assist drivers during the loading and unloading of equipment.
  • Operate forklifts and other types of construction equipment as required.
  • Inspect returned equipment for any damage, document findings, and complete service tags accordingly.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Support additional tasks such as fueling, tire storage, and relocating equipment when needed.
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors and colleagues to ensure workflow efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Possession of a valid Class G/5 driver’s license with a clean or acceptable driving record (not exceeding 3 demerit points), along with the ability to provide a recent driver’s abstract upon request.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift around 50 pounds.
  • Forklift license or demonstrable experience operating forklifts and other heavy machinery is preferred.
  • Comfortable working outdoors throughout all seasons.
  • Availability and willingness to work overtime as required.
  • Mechanical aptitude or prior experience operating construction equipment is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and well-developed organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and perform well under fast-paced conditions.
  • Self-motivated, customer service-focused, and able to collaborate effectively in team settings.
  • Eager to learn about construction equipment and the rental industry.
  • Basic computer proficiency for inspection reporting and inventory management tasks.
