About the Role
Join Union Industries, an employee-owned leader in manufacturing bespoke High Speed Doors and Industrial curtains, located in West Yorkshire, England. We are seeking a motivated individual with a strong work ethic and problem-solving abilities to contribute to our fabrication shop. This hands-on role involves preparing doors through processes like MIG welding, metal drilling, tapping, cutting, plasma cutting, fabricating, and assembling a variety of high-speed doors and related products.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and fabricate components using MIG welding and various metalworking techniques.
- Operate automated machinery and hand tools to meet production schedules.
- Interpret engineering drawings accurately to ensure quality assembly.
- Perform quality checks on own work to maintain high standards.
- Maintain clear communication with team members and supervisors.
- Record work hours precisely and comply with company time tracking.
- Commit to working overtime as required by production demands.
Skills and Qualifications
- Certification in MIG welding is essential.
- Experience in fabrication is advantageous but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Proficient in using automated equipment and manual tools.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Eager to learn and grow within the role.
- Ability to successfully pass a weld test as part of recruitment.
Working Hours and Conditions
The position involves a 39-hour workweek: Monday to Thursday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Flexibility to work extra hours during peak periods is required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Approximate hourly wage of GBP 13.73.
- Generous benefits including a 7% employer pension contribution with no employee contributions required.
