Web Solutions Engineer - Google Technical Services

About the Role

The gTech Ads team supports a broad range of advertising and publishing products by assisting customers in optimizing their ad campaigns and addressing business and technical challenges. As part of Google's advertising ecosystem, this role involves enhancing products for various users including small businesses, large enterprises, and content creators by developing modern web solutions that improve ad experience and effectiveness globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, deploy, and optimize scalable full-stack web applications by leveraging both general and Google-specific development tools and technologies.
• Diagnose complex problems, propose and implement solutions, manage dependencies, and resolve development issues.
• Contribute technically by authoring and reviewing design documents, automated tests, and source code primarily using JavaScript, Python, TypeScript, and SQL.
• Apply expert knowledge in Google's technologies, software development best practices, and coding standards to ensure high-quality outputs.
• Partner effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders to identify challenges and devise novel tech solutions that align with business needs.

Candidate Qualifications

• Academic background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent hands-on software development experience.
• At least 2 years of expertise in full-stack software development.
• Proficiency with database systems including both SQL and NoSQL technologies.
• Strong programming skills in back-end languages such as Java, Python, or C++, along with front-end languages like JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Preferred abilities include adapting swiftly in dynamic environments, prioritizing tasks effectively, delivering technical solutions that tackle business challenges, and a passion for engineering practices including unit testing, agile methodologies, and managing bugs and changes.
