About the Role

Parkdean Resorts, the largest holiday park operator in the UK, seeks a dedicated Web Developer to join their engineering team remotely within the UK. The role involves building and maintaining technology solutions that underpin millions of holiday bookings, searches, and confirmations across customer-facing websites and booking platforms.

Responsibilities

Develop features and enhancements directly used by customers within a production environment.
Manage full cycle delivery of features from refinement to deployment, including designing, coding, testing, reviewing, and releasing.
Collaborate with a squad consisting of Test Engineers, Product managers, and Delivery personnel, reporting to a Lead Software Engineer.
Focus primarily on application code, tests, and squad collaboration, while platform infrastructure and CI/CD tooling are handled by a dedicated Cloud & Platform team.
Ensure code quality by writing readable, tested, secure, and maintainable software backed by appropriate automated tests.
Engage in technical design discussions and proactively identify potential requirement or technical issues during refinement.
Participate in critical incident out-of-hours rotations, diagnose and resolve application-level issues within the squad’s domain.
Contribute to post-incident reviews focusing on system robustness rather than assigning blame.

Technology Stack

Primary development with C#/.NET.
Experience with component-based JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js, React, or Next.js.
Work with SQL Server, including query writing, indexing, and performance troubleshooting.
Version control and code review practices using Git/Azure Repos.
Automated testing methodology including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
Bonus skills include Sitecore CMS or e-commerce platforms, Salesforce integrations, and test automation frameworks like Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright.
Familiarity with Azure application services and regulated environments such as PCI and GDPR compliance is desirable.
Ability to work constructively with legacy systems such as Classic ASP when necessary.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum of three years of commercial experience coding in a modern web development environment.
Capability to independently manage feature development and deployment with little supervision.
Strong commitment to code quality, thorough code reviews, and preventive problem reporting.
