About The Repair Company & Position Overview
The Phone Mechanic operates under The Repair Company, an emerging organization dedicated to repair services, technical training, skill development, and creating digital content. We produce repair guides, training videos, inspirational student stories, founder insights, educational tutorials, and social media campaigns reaching a wide audience on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and other channels.
We are expanding our media team and desire a highly creative, innovative, and committed Video Content Editor who goes beyond simple editing tasks to help craft exceptional content.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit various video formats including YouTube long-form, Shorts, Instagram Reels, and Facebook content using advanced storytelling techniques.
- Incorporate motion graphics, visual effects, sound design, subtitles, transitions, and improve overall video quality with color grading and audio polishing.
- Analyze raw footage to pick optimal segments, propose engaging hooks, titles, and strategies to maximize viewer retention and engagement.
- Participate actively in content development meetings, sharing fresh creative ideas.
- Design attention-grabbing YouTube thumbnails and promotional graphics while ensuring consistent brand representation across platforms.
- Keep abreast of current social media trends and platform requirements to tailor content effectively.
- Collaborate closely with the founder and content team, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines efficiently.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar video editing software.
- Experience with Photoshop and Canva for graphic and thumbnail design.
- Strong grasp of storytelling principles and audience retention tactics, especially for YouTube and social media short-form content.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to take initiative and ownership of projects.
- Bonus expertise in motion graphics, animation, YouTube SEO, content strategies, AI editing tools, and basic videography and camera operation skills is highly advantageous.
