Job description
Position Overview
The Vice President of Expansion plays a pivotal role in the dynamic growth and strategic advancement of Youth For Christ's mission via leadership of chapters, church partner sites, and online mobilization efforts. This executive position involves overseeing the development and execution of strategic plans aimed at expanding chapters, partnerships, and digital outreach using Christ-centered design thinking principles. Working closely with the Office of the President and other vice presidents, the role entails fostering a culture of continuous, rapid growth and improvement aligned with a 10-year vision to see Generation Alpha devoted to Christ.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and implement the national vision and strategy by mobilizing resources and stakeholders to fulfill the organization's mission.
- Lead and manage the Expansion division, supervising department heads responsible for Chapter Advancement, Leadership Training, Church Partner Sites, and Online Platforms.
- Create a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages team growth, clarity, trust, and empowerment.
- Engage in organizational leadership across divisions to ensure mission alignment and progress, including collaboration with executive field leadership.
- Develop and maintain a 'Church site' or network model to engage local churches and partners in evangelism efforts.
- Lead the recruitment, training, and succession planning of executive leaders, establishing a recognized leadership development pipeline.
- Initiate and lead the launch of an online platform to serve the entire YFC movement and its partners.
- Participate in organizational problem-solving, facilitating holistic solutions aligned with policies and movement resources.
Spiritual and Cultural Leadership
- Serve as an associate minister of the Gospel, providing spiritual guidance through prayer, teaching, and worship participation.
- Model Christ-centered values including humility, trust, joy, faithfulness, and diversity.
- Promote equity and inclusion, empathizing with and advocating for diverse and marginalized communities.
Fundraising and Budget Management
- Engage actively in stewardship and fundraising activities, including outreach to donor networks and event participation.
- Oversee financial resources aligned with strategic goals, managing budgets responsibly through appropriate processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s in Leadership, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience, including managing senior leaders and large teams.
- Proven success in strategic planning, organizational growth, change management, and leadership development within mission-driven or faith-based environments.
- Strong commitment to Christian faith and alignment with YFC's cultural attributes and statement of faith.
- Excellent communication, relational, and listening skills with ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong financial acumen and resource management skills.
- Experience in innovation, Christ-centered design thinking, complex problem-solving, and launching new departments.
Physical and Travel Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively via phone and email; ability to work for extended periods seated at a computer.
- Occasional movement within office; use of office equipment; occasional lifting up to 10 lbs.
- Approximately 20% overnight travel within the country.
