About the Role

We are looking for enthusiastic Ushers - Host/Runners to join our Food & Beverage team at our Stratford, Ontario location. Inspired by the traditional role of Ushers, you will be the essential first contact for guests, setting the atmosphere from greeting at the door to guiding guests to their seats and maintaining flow during busy times. This role requires a balanced awareness and personable approach, knowing when to engage guests and when to allow the ambiance to speak for itself.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables.
  • Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists with accuracy.
  • Respond promptly to telephone and guest inquiries.
  • Take orders and provide insightful menu and beverage recommendations.
  • Assist with food running, water service, table clearing, and resetting during peak times.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at entrance and host stations.
  • Complete opening and closing duties following food safety and health standards.
  • Communicate guest dietary needs, allergies, and special requests effectively to the team.

Candidate Profile

  • Prior experience in hosting, serving, or hospitality is highly desirable.
  • Must possess valid Smart Serve and Food Handler certifications.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to engage and assist guests confidently.
  • Strong situational awareness to manage dining room flow and service pace.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs safely.
  • Collaborative team player with flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
