Therapy Assistant (1 Year Contract)

Overview

The Therapy Assistant role is designed to support therapists by assisting in clinical, administrative, and technical duties within a healthcare setting. This includes helping supervise healthcare attendants and ensuring smooth operation of therapy-related activities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support therapists in preparing and supervising patients during therapeutic activities and exercises.
• Prepare treatment areas, gyms, and clinics for patient use efficiently.
• Set up therapeutic equipment and modalities, and monitor patients using them.
• Assist in facilitating group therapy sessions under therapist supervision.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the therapy environment.
• Coordinate patient portering to and from therapy departments and assist with portering tasks as necessary.
• Supervise healthcare attendants and oversee portering assignments within the rehabilitation department.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Conduct inventory checks and manage records for equipment, supplies, and forms.
• Carry out office tasks such as photocopying, binding, filing, and document distribution.
• Perform basic data entry and retrieval using relevant software applications.
• Maintain therapeutic equipment and devices to ensure proper functioning.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new therapy assistants.
• Manage incoming enquiries, answer phone calls, relay messages, and provide necessary information.

Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification of GCE ‘O’ Level.
• Strong service orientation with a focus on patient care.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

This position is offered on a one-year contract basis, with the possibility of renewal based on performance.
