Technical Manager

About the Role

Milkio Foods Limited, a leading exporter of premium grass-fed ghee and butter from New Zealand, is seeking a Technical Manager to join their team in Frankton, Hamilton. This permanent, full-time position plays a pivotal role in handling the company's technical operations, quality assurance, regulatory adherence, and audit processes, supporting growth across 30+ international markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee MPI audits (Product-Based Verification) and resolve non-compliances efficiently.
• Coordinate certification-related audits including Halal, Kosher, SQF, and Biogro (Organic) certifications.
• Maintain and update Risk Management Program (RMP) documentation, ensuring all necessary approvals are acquired.
• Manage electronic declaration (e-Dec) and e-Cert processes for all product shipments and export paperwork.
• Ensure all product labeling complies with the regulatory standards of each target country.
• Guarantee full compliance with Overseas Market Access Requirements (OMAR) for every export dispatch.
• Handle country listings and obtain relevant export approvals.
• Administer the supplier database and provide guidance during their onboarding stages.
• Identify opportunities and drive initiatives to enhance quality and operational processes.
• Provide technical support to teams on key projects including new product development.
• Ensure all activities comply with regulatory and quality policies, procedures, and standards.

Candidate Profile

• Possesses a Degree or Diploma in Food Technology.
• Has 4 to 6 years of experience in a technical capacity, preferably within the dairy export industry.
• Experience working with RMP, e-Dec systems, compliance audits, OMAR regulations, and product labeling.
• Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and ability to operate independently.
• Excellent communication skills to clearly explain technical matters to diverse stakeholders.
